Your Students' Union

Birmingham City University Students’ Union (BCUSU) is YOUR Students’ Union.

Our priority is to make sure you have the best possible time during your university journey. We’re an independent charity, but we work alongside the University with issues that can affect your academic and university experience. When you start at BCU, you’re automatically a member of your Students’ Union, this means you have access to all our outlets (our Campus Shops, The Social Kitchen, and Eagle & Ball), and you’ve also got access to our services, including:

Advice - From our professionally trained advisers, on issues related to money, health, academia and housing.

Societies - For you to get involved with and to meet new people. Learn a new hobby or activity, develop your skills, engage with your course mates or practice your faith. You can campaign with our Protected Societies, which are free to join and offer a safe-space for under-represented communities.

Representation - Throughout your time here. The Officer team, who you vote for, lead BCUSU and represent you in meetings with the University. Through our School and Course Reps, we guarantee your issues will be listened to and your feedback acted on to help make your student experience better.
